Exaggeration and Caricature
In my mind, this is what animation is all about. If you don’t push the boundaries and make fun of stuff, you’re not using the full potential of the medium. Don’t get me wrong, I like all forms of animation, well... except anything rotoscoped... oh yeah, and anime (I’m sorry). I’m sorry, yes I said it! I have a problem with anime. It’s too psychologically painful for me to watch.

Tex Avery and Chuck Jones are my two favorites. Bob Clampett, certain Disney features and Roger Ramjet and of course, Happy Tree Friends and Family Guy - arguably the best parody cartoon show around.

Look for opportunities to take your animation further. Push the boundaries.
