This scene is called an establishing shot because it establishes where we are and what time it is. The truck in is used to draw the audience towards the castle, our ultimate destination for this story.

The mood in the film is established through the upshot of the classic looking castle, the stormy sky, and the lightning flashing. There would obviously be some sort of scary music in the background to aid in the mood. It would be contradictory to have light happy music for this shot. You would only do this if it served a purpose in the overall film story.

A truck in is the technical term for the action that the camera takes in the filming of the scene. If you were shooting a live action version of the same shot you would use the zoom feature on the camera to create the same illusion of moving towards the castle. If you’re using a computer program to create this shot, you would select the start field size (the largest view of the castle) and then the stop field size (the smallest view of the castle). Next you would decide the length of time you want the truck in to take. Probably 4 - 6 seconds would be good to compliment the scary feeling of the scene. If it went too fast you wouldn’t feel the same about the castle.
